Paint correction is the systematic leveling of the paint through various compounds and polishes to remove defects such as orange peel, swirl marks, holograms, light scratches, oxidation, water spots, and contamination. Instead of simply covering the defects up with oils and waxes, proper paint correction refines the finish to a leveled higher gloss, deep shine appearance.
Brand new, or a few years old, every car will benefit greatly from proper paint correction efforts. Unsightly scratches and swirl marks can only be removed through paint correction. If you would like to keep your car paint finish in the best possible condition, then polishing will be necessary. It will remove the swirl marks, prevent oxidation from occurring, water spot etching will be removed, deeper scratches minimized and maximum gloss restored.
This is not an easy answer, but it can be a single step correction in 4 to 8 hours, or an intensive multi-step process that takes 15 to 25 hours. It all depends on the starting condition and the desired end results. We cannot give a price without seeing the car in person. This allows both of us proper time to discuss exactly what is possible and what is not.
Maintenance is a crucial part in keeping the paintwork pristine after a true paint correction. This is where a proper car wash technique comes into play. Using high quality soaps, mitts, drying towels, and the proper tools, you can enjoy the benefits of the paint correction for a very long time with very little effort. We highly suggest adding a coating for longer term protection that will also aid in added gloss and scratch resistance.
Simply put, this is up to the client. Some would like the paint to be more glossy but do not care about the swirls and light scratches. Some want to look at the paint and see as little paint defects as possible. We have the solution for everyone’s needs and budget. An in-person consultation is highly suggested in order to understand the work scope at hand.
